Manuel de Soto y Solares Ca. 1860

Manuel Soto y Solares worked in Sevilla on the same street Torres had his workshop during the period Torres worked in Sevilla. In many details there is striking similarity of design and style, especially the head design. This instrument is the type known as ahuevada or “egg shaped” and was the type which later was known among flamenco players as a guitarra de tablao, or “bar guitar.”
